Michael Poth, the Marine accused of killing a fellow Marine following an incident where he allegedly called the victim a ''faggot'' after having earlier seen the victim embrace another man, had his July 13 felony status conference postponed to Aug. 3 this morning.
At a May 16 preliminary hearing, Judge Ronna L. Beck, filling in for Judge William Jackson, found there was probable cause that Poth, 20, of Southeast Washington, stabbed 23-year-old Philip Bushong, of Camp Lejune, N.C., in the early morning hours of April 21 following a confrontation between the two in the 700 block of 8th Street SE, a stretch known as Barracks Row for housing the Marines Barracks.
Poth, who faces a charge of second-degree murder while armed, remains held without bond as he awaits his next felony status conference.
